Mission

The Urban Training and Research Institute is dedicated institute for providing training research and consulting services related to urban development and management.

Objectives

Urban Training and Research Institute- (U.T.R.I). Uttar Pradesh will have the following objectives: -
1. To organize training programs for the promotion of the elected representatives of Urban Local Bodies (municipal corporation municipal council and nagar panchayat) and for the personned belonging to urban development department.
2. Capacity Building by organizing department’s parastanl and related institutions officials short-term training programs.
3. To prepare training modules and study materials for capacity building and its updation from time to time.
4. To undertake research and studies on issues of urban development.
5. To co-ordinate and support Urban Local Bodies and other institutions in research and studies related to urban development.
6. To publish reports after reviewing the progress and activities of the Institute. Also to hold capacity building programs related to urban development organized by Government of India. State Government of Multinational International organizations. To work with organizations departments for getting financial grants assistance.
7. To prepare and publish literature, pamphlets, folders, comment books etc. for fulfilment of the objectives of the institution and to inform and educate the concerned audience.
8. To organize workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings etc. for the fulfilment of objectives of the institution and visiting different countries for research study purpose.
9. To assist the State Government ad the Urban Local Bodies in successful implementation of various schemes project missions etc. sponsored by the Central Government, State Government in urban development.
10. To create awareness among public on environmental protection, public health, hygiene and water conservation by utilizing latest technology solutions and also conducting IEC (Information education and communication) of the same.
11. Capacity Development based on the concept of sustainable urban development and good governance in Urban Local Bodies while emphasizing the principles of transparency and accountability for public participation in urban activities.
12. To provide consultancy for technical services.
13. To perform other functions required for fulfilment of goals and objectives of the institute.
14. To manage necessary movable and immovable properties for the purposes of attaining the objectives of the Institute.
